The workplace.
You're there 8+ hours a day/ 5 days a week.... sometimes even more.
Thrown together in the same breathing space with total strangers and forced to form relationships with them.
For some, this could be considered a form of torture.
For KFRG, it's the opposite.
Now, don't get me wrong. There were times that I loathed walking in those doors, and sometimes I had days where I was driven to tears. But most of the days were good ones. I was only there for 4 years. In that time, I learned a lot about radio, and maybe even more about life.
You've heard the term "KFROG Family" on more than one occasion. And that's exactly what it feels like. A family.
There's the one that annoys you. The one that's a little weird. The one you look up to as a parental figure. The one that you run to when you have a problem. The one always makes you smile. The one that becomes your best friend.
Today, KFROG lost a very remarkable family member. Candy was always upbeat and had a way to make you smile. And she was always in the know! If something happened in programming, you can be sure you would hear about it in NTR within the next 10 minutes. So, in a way, she kind of kept everyone together by making sure we all knew what was going on. She made an impact on everyone, and if you were lucky enough to have met Candy, I'm sure you had fond memories of her. She will truly be missed by everyone.
With tomorrow being Thanksgiving, I just want to say that I'm thankful for the staff at KFRG, and all of you will be in my prayers.
